July

  • Menlo Park Toastmasters Club in Area C1 for July 2008 - June 2009, along with Lee Emerson Bassett, RealOrators of Palo Alto, Secoya Bilingual, and Tall Tree.

June

June 11, 2008: We presented Rupert Hart with our second annual Civic Participation award:

Toastmaster and business book author Rupert Hart visited us on June 11, 2008.

May

  • May 17, 2008: District 4 Toastmasters presented Harry Holland with its 70th Anniversary "Outstanding Leadership Award".

April

  • April 30, 2008: We celebrated our 20th anniversary! Toastmasters International chartered us, as club #1372, on April 21, 1988. Dale Schrumpf was our first club President, and Cheryl Watkins was the District Governor.

2007 News

June

  • June 20, 2007: We presented Vision New America with our first annual Civic Participation award:

Vision New America visited us on June 20, 2007.

May

  • Harry Holland named District 4 Treasurer for 2007-2008
  • We are reorganized into Area H1 - this means we compete in Area Contests against Redwood City clubs.

April

  • Dave Knapp came 2nd in Division C Table Topics Contest
  • Angela Hey, Treasurer, received award from Governor Ken Cawley for getting dues in early by March 15th, 2007

March

  • Dave Knapp came 1st in Area C2 Table Topics Contest
  • Michelle Chen came 3rd in Area C2 International Speech Contest

January

  • Menlo Park Toastmasters offers an Effective Listening Workshop for 2 weeks on January 10th and 17th.
  • First meeting of the year - January 3rd - Area Governor Chat Vaewsorn swore in new officers.

2006 News

November

  • Menlo Park Toastmasters received another ribbon for its banner as the Division C governor is a club member.

October

  • Menlo Park Toastmasters received a ribbon as recognition for training all 7 officers.

August

  • Gil Allanic is selected to represent Menlo Park Toastmasters in the Area Humorous Speech Contest and receives 2nd prize there. Terry Burris represented the club in the Area C2 Evaluation Contest.

July

  • Menlo Park Toastmasters makes President's Distinguished Club for the 3rd year running.

June

  • Menlo Park's Harry Holland Wins District 4 Toastmaster Of The Year For Over 200 Clubs From Monterey To San Francisco
  • Menlo Park Toastmasters Wins 2 Prizes at Division C Contest For Mid-Peninsula Clubs
  • Menlo Park Toastmasters Wins Big At Area C2 Contest For Menlo Park Clubs
