When you give a speech, evaluators count the number of hesitations, such as "ah", "um", "er" and "yer know". You are fined 1c for each hesitation and the money goes towards club expenses. If you use the Word of the Day you need not pay the fine.

Using a word of the day makes speeches more colorful and helps members expand their vocabulary.
